BILLY the Kid and Nannie Oakley will be going head to head in cowboy themed goat racing.

The adorable goats will be kitted out in tiny Stetson hats and neckerchiefs for the races at Adventure Valley in Brasside, near Durham city.

The park is hosting the goat races as part of its Wild West Week during May half term, from May 29 to June 5.

Billy the Kid, Nannie Oakley, Wild Billy Hickok and the Sundance Kid will be racing each other around a miniature race track to see who takes the honours.

Adventure Valley owner Marco Calzini said: “A twist on our usual Goat Racing Activity, some people thought we were 'kidding' when we announced that we would have Goat Racing Cowboys, 'butt' the activity promises to be very entertaining and great fun.”

As well as cheering on the racing goats, families can pan for gold, take part in a cowboy throw challenge and splat the cowboy to raise money for Radio Metro’s Cash for Kids.
