A SCOTTISH folk band is set to perform in County Durham as part of its UK tour.
RURA, are touring with their second album Despite the Dark, and will be visiting Barnard Castle on May 24.
The five-piece band blends fiddle, Highland pipes, whistle, flute, bodhran, guitar and voice.
It first came onto the music scene in 2010, as award-winners at Glasgow’s world-renowned Celtic Connections festival.
Since then, Steven Blake, Adam Brown, David Foley, Adam Holmes and Jack Smedley’s instrumentals and songcraft have feature in many of the world’s leading folk festivals including Cambridge, Tønder, Winnipeg, HebCelt and Shetland.
The band will perform at the Witham, from 7.30pm.
