TWO men were taken to hospital after their cars collided and were badly damaged on a North-East road.
The smash happened at about 7.35pm on Thursday evening on Longclose Bank, Medomsley, near Consett.
The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene and the vehicles were recovered.
Two Consett men, a 53-year-old VW Golf driver and a 29-year-old Renault Clio driver, were taken to University Hospital of North Durham and treated for minor injuries.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: “We are appealing for any information about the circumstances surrounding the crash to come forward.”
The police non-emergency number is 101.
