POTENTIALLY harmful medicine has been stolen during a burglary.
Northumbria Police are warning anyone against consuming the medication, that was taken when burglars broke into a flat in Ripley Court, Low Fell, Gateshead, between Thursday and Saturday (April 21-23).
Several types of medicine were stolen, including Venlafaxine and Valporic Acid.
Gateshead-based Sergeant Tim McIntyre said: “Anyone with information into the burglary or the whereabouts of the stolen medication is asked to contact us straight away.
“The drugs that were stolen have the potential to be dangerous and would urge anyone who knows where they are to hand them into a police station or contact us so we can get them recovered.
“Do not take any medication that isn’t prescribed to you as it could cause serious harm.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101, quoting reference number 554 23/04/16.
