SCIENCE fans of all ages gathered for a two-day fair at the weekend (April 23-24).
The Maker Faire UK 2016 attracted hundreds of people with a shared passion for science and innovation to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle across Saturday and Sunday.
Among the headline acts were Lords of Lightning, whose performing animated metal structures, complete with lightning, have become a favourite at the Glastonbury Festival.
There were also organised talks and many opportunities to share ideas.
Anne Reece, chair of the Reece Foundation, which sponsored the event, said: “Maker Faire UK is an excellent example of how to engage and inspire young people with science, technology, engineering and maths and we’re delighted to be supporting the event.”
