A PANEL of energy experts will debate the future of fossil fuels at an event next month (Monday, May 9).
The Durham Energy Institute and Durham Miners’ Association will jointly host a public debate titled: What role will fossil fuels play in future energy?
Barbara Vest, director of generation at Energy UK, will chair a panel featuring Durham Miners’ Association general secretary David Hopper and president Alan Cummings, Durham University Professor of Unconventional Petroleum Andy Aplin, Glasgow University Professor of Energy Engineering Paul Younger, Invisotech chief executive Prof Alan Lowdon, the Green Party’s Jonathan Elmer and Durham Energy Institute executive director Prof Simon Hogg.
The debate will be held at the Miners’ Hall, Redhills, Durham, on Monday, May 9 at 6pm. Entry is free. For more information, visit durham.ac.uk/dei/events
