Duke of Gloucester's visit to the region hit by severe weather
FREEZING fog has temporarily grounded a Royal visit to the region.
The Duke of Gloucester was due in County Durham this morning to officially open the new £44m Consett Sports Centre and Consett Academy development.
But the visit by the Queen’s cousin has been put back to this afternoon after adverse weather conditions in London meant his flight was delayed.
The Duke was also due to tour The Witham in Barnard Castle, which has recently undergone a £3.2m restoration.
