A LEADING business school has appointed a new boss.

Professor Susan Hart will take over as Dean of Durham University Business School in the summer.

Prof Hart, who is currently associate deputy principal at Strathclyde University, will succeed Prof Rob Dixon, who has been Dean since 2008.

Prof Hart has significant private sector experience, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and was formerly a director of the Royal National Scottish Orchestra.

Prof Stuart Corbridge, Durham University’s Vice-Chancellor, said: “Susan is a dynamic leader with outstanding strategic skills and a strong academic record.

“We are confident that she will be able to drive the School forward to even greater success and acclaim.”

Prof Hart added: “I’m particularly enthusiastic about advancing the School’s engagement with organisations in North-East England and building significant partnerships worldwide to develop incisive, innovative and sustainable solutions to contemporary, global challenges.”
