RECENT cases heard at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court include:

Christopher David Brown, 33, of Friar’s Wynd, Richmond, admitted to theft from Co-op in the town. He was fined £150, a victim surcharge of £20, and £85 prosecution costs.

Lemeki Mataisau, 36, of Kemmel Close, Catterick Garrison, admitted to driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined £670, with a £67 victim surcharge and £85 prosecutions costs. He was disqualified from driving for 36 months.

Jack Alan Radcliffe, 25, of Bagby, Thirsk, admitted to driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined £325, with a £33 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months.

John Robert Dearlove, 60, of Prospect View, Northallerton, admitted to failing to provide a breath specimen after police suspected him of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined £120, with a £20 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs. He was disqualified from driving for 16 months.

Michael John Nelson, 19, of Coronation Place, Richmond, admitted to using threatening words or behaviour to cause the victim to believe they were under threat of violence. He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, to pay a victim surcharge of £60, and £85 costs.

Robert Purdy, 31, of Norby, Thirsk, admitted to assaulting a man by beating him. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge, order to pay £100 compensation, a £15 victim surcharge, and £85 prosecution costs.

Philip James Taylorson, 34, of Hewitson Road, Darlington, admitted to driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was fined £570, with a £57 victim surcharge, and £85 prosecution costs. He was disqualified for 15 months.
