BRUTAL wake-ups, celebrity crybabys and the sudden departure of Lady C – the socialite dominating the camp was forced to leave the I’m A Celebrity jungle on 'medical grounds'.

The day kicked off with a racket as the ever grumpy Duncan Bannatyne waved “filthy” pans in camp leader George Shelley’s face to wake him up.

He later snapped at Ferne McCann saying “Don’t tell me the pan has been cleaned. It’s not clean, it’s filthy” and reduced the reality star to tears.

The Dragon’s Den then had some words of wisdom about the leader situation: “I love George and I think he’s a great lad but he’s not a good leader.”

But things picked up for Duncan as his arch-nemesis and all-round lunatic Lady Colin Campbell was forced to leave the camp due to medical reasons.

The novelist admitted she had had some good times in the jungle but added: “There is no prospect of me having Tony or Duncan in my life in any shape or form.”

When he heard the news, Duncan declared with his signature tact: “There is absolutely nothing I will miss about Lady C. I am so glad she’s gone. I don’t care if the world hates me, I’m glad to see the back of her.”

Later the campmates had a dose of waterworks as letters from home were read out.

Mr Bannatyne’s note was from his dental nurse girlfriend Nigora Whitehorn who wrote: "I feel so sad that I can’t be with you and touch you and kiss you. This is a connection that I daresay will be forever.”

Before going into the jungle, the Jamaican-born author was best known for writing a book about Diana, Princess of Wales, which detailed her affair with James Hewitt.

She is the second celebrity to leave in unusual circumstances, following Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews.

He had to withdraw from the show after admitting to a steroid addiction.

Due to Lady C’s departure the celebrities could relax their buttock muscles as no-one was voted off in the live elimination.
