A BREAST cancer survivor thanked hospital staff for looking after her by raising almost £900 towards a cancer patient fund.

Judy Warriner, a member of Stockton Trefoil Group and Stockton Motor Group, joined forces with them to raise £890 from coffee mornings and donations towards radiotherapy and oncology's Star Fund.

Future breast cancer patients at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough will receive new specialised breast gowns for use during treatment.

The special gowns will be made by the hospital laundry team, which have invited the ladies from the Trefoil Group to the hospital to choose the colour of the gowns.

The Trefoil Group has 28 members and celebrates its 60th anniversary next year. It is part of the girl guiding group and is mainly made up of ladies who have retired from the Guide movement.

The Motor Club helps at rallies, providing marshals and other motoring activities.

Ms Warriner said: "I wanted to thank the dedicated hospital staff for the amazing care and support I received during my treatment for breast cancer and on-going care.

“I am also grateful to both clubs and everyone who helped me for making the donation possible.”
