A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and theft after police were called to a house in Sowerby, near Thirsk, where an 85-year-old man was found with serious injuries.
Ryan Campbell, of Racecourse Mews, Thirsk, appeared at Northallerton magistrates on Monday, November 9. No application was made for bail and the case was committed to Teesside Crown Court for a hearing on November 23.
North Yorkshire police revealed they had been called to the house on Thursday, November 5 following a report of a concern for safety.
Officers found the 85-year-old local man with serious injuries, he was taken to James Cook Hospital where they say he remains in a critical condition.
