POLICE investigating the discovery of a man’s body Durham say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
The body was found by a member of the public at around 6.40am on Saturday on a playing field on Carr House Drive in the Newton Hall area of the city.
The post mortem examination has been carried out and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Detective Superintendent Adrian Green said: “House to house enquiries and forensic examinations have been going on most of the day and I realise this will have been concerning for the local community.
“I would like to thank the people of Newton Hall for their patience and support whilst we carried out the necessary enquiries.“
