FIREFIGHTERS rode to the rescue of a large eagle owl that got stuck on a Teesside rooftop.
A crew was called to help the stricken bird which had become entangled upside down on an aerial on a two-storey house on Coral Grove, in Thornaby.
An RSPCA inspector helped the crew and the owl was taken to the vets for an examination.
The charity believes the bird has once belonged to somebody and is appealing for its owner to contact them on 0300 1234 999.
