A DOG walker is doing sponsored walks for a month to raise money to help send a child with cancer on the holiday of her dreams.
Cath Magee, who runs Wags and Walks in Willington, County Durham, is doing sponsored dog walks throughout October to support South Shields youngster Kayleigh Brennan, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in May .
The three-year-old is currently undergoing chemotherapy and her parents want to take her to Disneyland in Florida when she finishes her treatment in two and a half years.
Ms Magee, 44, is a friend of Lindsay Brennan, Kayleigh's mum, and decided to try and raise money for her after hearing about their efforts to take her on her dream holiday.
She said: “When I saw it, it just touched me and I wanted to do something to help her get to meet the Disney princesses.
“I was trying to think of how I could fundraise and all I could think of was the dog walking. I know so many people around here with dogs and I just want to raise as much as I can.”
So far more than £2,500 has already been raised to help send Kayleigh to Disneyland. Visit www.gofundme.com/p94qnf73 to find out more.
