AN OFF-DUTY police officer has been confirmed as one of those killed in a motorcycle crash in North Yorkshire on Friday.
The fatal collision happened on the B1257 between Malton and Amotherby at about 11.50am on Friday (October 2).
It involved two riders, on aged in his 30s, the other in his 60s, who had been travelling in opposite directions on Suzuki motorbikes when they collided.
Both men were from East Yorkshire and one of them was believed to be a serving officer with Humberside Police, who was off-duty at the time.
Humberside Police have confirmed one of its officers was involved in the collision and said the force’s thoughts were with the family, friends and colleagues of the motorcyclists.
Neither of the men involved have yet been named.
