POLICE are appealing for help to trace a missing teenager.

Shanice Romanienko aged 17, from Lancashire is described as vulnerable.

She was on holiday in Edinburgh when she got on a train alone and got off in Newcastle Central Station on Monday, September 28, at 11.24am and walked into the city centre.

She is described as 5 feet 2ins tall, slim build with long curly red hair, shaved on the right side, blue eyes and has a Manchester accent.

She was last seen wearing a black furry bodywarmer, black top, white leggings and black knee length boots she also has with her a grey sequined beanie hat and stripy grey and black long sleeved top.

It is believed she may be sleeping rough in the city. Police are increasingly concerned for her welfare and are carrying out enquiries to locate Shanice.

Superintendent Mick Paterson said: "We're asking the public to help us locate Shanice, she has a distinctive appearance and we know there will be a lot of people in the city centre today with the rugby match and we're asking for people to contact us if they know where she is.

"We're asking the public to be extra eyes for us and to help us to find Shanice."

Officers are appealing for Shanice to make contact with them, or anyone who recognises her to call police straightaway.
