TWO legends of the folk music scene are set to play at a village hall, almost 50 years after they first teamed up.

Singer and guitarist Martin Carthy, who is credited with inspiring artists including Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Richard Thompson, will perform alongside Fairport Convention fiddle player Dave Swarbrick at Reeth Memorial Hall, near Richmond, as part of a national tour.

Profits from the concert will go towards the pre-war building's first major revamp, which will cost £52,000 and has seen the redevelopment of the main hall and stage, structural works and improvements to the kitchen and meeting room.

For tickets, which cost £15 in advance, visit Reeth Post Office or call 01748-884759. Under 16s are half price and all profits are for improvements to the Memorial Hall.
