FLY-TIPPERS blocked a country lane with sofas, a fridge and a children’s sandpit.
Stony Bank, in Redworth, near Darlington, was left impassable to cars after the fly-tippers dumped piles of waste sometime between yesterday (Thursday, September 24) and today (Friday, September 25.
Also included in the mess was carpet, wood and other household waste.
A nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We came for a walk yesterday and there was a three-piece suite and it caused some problems, but this one means nobody can get through.”
A spokeswoman for Darlington Borough Council said officers had been informed of the rubbish dump and had cleared it up.
