INJURY: The Great North Air Ambulance helicopter at the scene of the collision.
AN 83-year-old suffered serious head injuries in road accident on Sunday morning.
The incident happened near Stanhope, in Weardale.
The man was treated at the scene by medics before being flown to James Cook University Hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance.
The pensioner was in a stable condition on arrival at hospital.
