SEVEN cars in one street were targeted in acts of 'mindless vandalism', police say.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the cars were damaged in Hetton-le -Hole, near Sunderland.
The damages happened overnight on Sunday, September 6, into Monday, September 7, in Wear Street.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and appealing for witnesses.
Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Musgrove said: "This is mindless vandalism. Whoever has done this may think it was harmless fun, but the damage has caused a great deal of inconvenience and expense to those who have been affected.
"I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or has any information about those responsible to get in contact with us."
Anyone with information should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 157 070915 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
