Jeremy Corbyn won a handsome victory in the final Labour leadership debate held in Gateshead tonight.
A poll conducted by Sky News immediately after the debate gave the left-winger a huge lead over his three rivals, Liz Kendall, Yvette Cooper and Andy Burnham.
In a defining moment Yvette Cooper attacked Mr Corbyn over his plan for quantitive easing to help improve schools, hospitals and infrastructure.
The wife of former shadow chancellor Ed Balls accused her rival of selling a dangerous fantasy, adding: "You can't just print free money. It has to be paid back - your plan will fall apart."
Mr Corbyn also defended his plans to reduce Britain's Armed Forces and scrap the UK's nuclear deterrent.
