BISHOP AUCKLAND Team Knock Out

 

                The Snooker Club will meet Tow Law New Market in the Final after two contrasting semi finals. The New Market entertained Bar None and coasted through for the loss of only one point, whilst the Snooker Club edged through against the visiting Coundon Miners Arms.

                The ten singles were shared at the Snooker Club, who had two from Paul Armstrong and one each from Michael Hoggart, Michael Farlowe and David Craggs with the Miners replying with two from David Jacomb and one each from Cliffy Owen, Craig Coulson and Gavin Robinson. Kevin Stewart joined Craggs to add the doubles for the Snooker Club, who clinched victory when Phil Cox beat Gavin Robinson in the decider.

                The Moorcock pulled off an excellent victory at Group A leaders, the Diamond by four points but still have Barnard Castle Club serious contestants for the second spot in the play-off semi finals.

                The local derby at the Queen’s Head was the top match in Group B. The B team only ropped one point to their A but both are safely through to the play-off semi finals.

                Quarrington Club B shot to the top of the table after they became the first team to record a maximum win this season by whitewashing their hosts at Harry’s Bar. Trimdon Roayl moved into second place after they only dropped two points to the visiting Flintlock.

            Only one match was played and it resulted in the league leaders from the dog and Gun extending their lead at the top to 19 points after they beat their hosts at the Rams Head by two points.

                The new season will start on Thursday, 1 October after the Annual General Meeting at 8.30pm on Tuesday, 8 September in the Blue Bell, 2 Bridgegate, Barnard Castle, where all teams intending to join the League must be represented. The League membership fee is £25 per team, which must be paid at the AGM.

                All teams wishing to join for the new season must complete an application form and return it to the Blue Bell before Sunday, 6 September.
