                Stanhope Bonny Moor Hen continued their good start to the season when they followed up their maximum in the first week with a three point victory at Byers Green Club.                 Easington Colliery Club are the early leaders after they followed up their first week maximum with an eight point success over the visiting Darlington Central.

                Easington Lane Bonnie Pit Laddie produced the performance of the week when they beat the visiting second placed Hetton Shepherds by two points. That result allowed leaders, Hesleden Club, ten point winners at Hearts of Oak B, to extend their lead to 17 points.

                Performances of the week: Paddy Lenagh of Coxhoe Red Lion hit a 180, a 15 dart leg and a 140 outshot; Paul Jennings of Hesleden Club hit a 16 and two 17 dart legs; Eddie Duffy of Victoria Arms hit 15 and 18 dart legs; Dave Hunter of Hesleden Club hit two 17 dart legs; Dick Young of Hetton Shepherds hit 17 and 18 dart legs; Micky Calvert of Houghton Comrades hit 17 and 18 dart legs; Sean Potts of Peterlee Pavilion hit a 180 and a 16 dart leg; Will Neave of Peterlee Hearts of Oak A hit a 17 dart leg and a 114 checkout.

                The only change in the top four came when the Crown B scores eight and the others seven, but this did not affect the places.

                The leading individual scorers were Lynn Hayward 134, Diane Nesbitt 133 and 100; Linda Trowles 105 and 100; Anne Atmore and Laura Hook 105 each; Val Fets 103; Claire Kerr two 100’s; Ann Sweeney, Linda Blackett, Julie Carlton, Annette Clark and Vicky Hardy 100 each.

                The new season will start on Thursday, 17 September when 13 teams will compete. The members are Cowshill Hotel, Blue Bell, Golden Lion, Hare & Hounds, Cross Keys, Stanhope Grey Bull A and B, Bonny Moor Hen, Pack Horse, Frosterley Inn, Wolsingham Club and Tow Law New Market.

                New secretary, Nigel Percival will be issuing the fixture list shortly.
