Delays of up to 90 minutes are likely until 9am on Virgin Trains East Coast, CrossCountry, First Transpennine Express and Northern Rail.
TRAIN services across the region are being severely disrupted after reports of a person being hit by a train at Durham Viaduct.
The incident was reported shortly before 6am this morning (Thursday) and is causing delays of up to 90 minutes to CrossCountry, First Transpennine Express, Northern Rail and Virgin Trains East Coast services passing between Durham and Darlington.
Delays are expected to continue until at least 9am.
