IN his support of Jeremy Corbyn, Allan Ryan said it didn’t matter if the leader of the Labour Party was electable as long as the party offered a clear alternative (HAS, Aug 21), but the whole purpose of a major political party contesting a general election is to win it.
Where is the merit in impotent, ideological opposition?
As regards Labour’s leadership contest, I despair.
