BISHOP Auckland’s Butterwick Hospice is inviting teams to get involved in their latest fundraiser on Saturday, September 26.

The charity will be hosting a Zorbing Football event at West Auckland Football Ground.

The activity, which blends football and zorbing is designed to be fun as the rules are the same as football but each player has a one man 'zorb' sphere enveloping their top half.

Players are encouraged to barge their way to win the ball rather than using their football skills before trying to score a goal.

Teams are five-a-side, and games are played in a round robin so that each team gets three games each with breaks in between.

An overall winner will then be awarded the winner’s cup.

The registration fee is £20 per person and teams can have a maximum of five people.

The charity’s fundraiser, Pauline Mcleavey, said: “Zorb Football is a unique experience that offers the best of all worlds.

“It’s fast, fun and full of laughs. This is the perfect way of having fun, energetic exercise.”

Each team member will need to complete a registration form and return them to the Fundraising Department with your team registration fees and a team name.
