ARTISTS from Teesdale will showcase their work in a summer exhibition.

The event will be held in a large marquee in a private garden at Greta Bridge, off the A66 near Barnard Castle, on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.

Among those taking part are Anne Mason, who will be displaying her latest watercolour landscapes featuring local scenes.

Having recently launched a new collection of animal wool sculptures, Helen Howard will also take part.

Brignall farmer, artist and author Doug Anderson will exhibit originals and prints depicting farm life in bygone times and have copies of his book One Field at a Time.

Tattooist Chris Moss, whose studio is based in Richmond, will have examples of his work on display, be available to discuss tattoo ideas and have a display of tattooing throughout history.

Host Stuart Short, who is renowned for his paintings of farm livestock, dogs and horses, will exhibit a range of originals and prints and showcase his commercial design work and gift items such as mugs and greetings cards.

He said: “We have put together an exhibition which includes a wide variety of artistic mediums, so we hope there will be something for everyone.

“There will be lots of items on sale from all the artists who will be on hand to discuss their work or future commissions.

“It is also going to be something of a social event and we hope our guests will stay to chat and meet up with friends.”

Alongside Mr Short will be his father, Malcolm, who produces handmade furniture using native tree species such as oak and elm.

Refreshments will be available, with profits from the refreshments donated to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Free parking and entry during opening hours, from 10am to 4pm, on both days.
