A BOUTIQUE will continue its 60th anniversary celebrations by staging a vintage fashion show.

Fashions have changed dramatically since Jayne, an independent women’s clothes shop, opened its doors in Sedgefield in the mid 1950s.

However, the shop has remained in style and has been holding special events throughout the year to mark its diamond anniversary.

Next month, shop owner Elena Degnan is staging two fashion shows with a twist in Sedgefield and Spennymoor.

Instead of purely showcasing the store’s current collection, the shows will feature vintage garments women wore in the early days of Jayne.

There will also be live music from the 1960s and 1970s and a buffet.

The first show takes place at Sedgefield Parish Hall on Monday, September 21 at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £6.

This will be followed by a catwalk show at Spennymoor Town Hall on Wednesday, September 30, also at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets for this event cost £5.

For more information or to buy tickets contact Ms Degnan on 01740-620459 or call into the shop in Front Street, Sedgefield.
