FOOTBALLS, boots, food and a money tin have been stolen in a break-in at a football club.
It is the second time Redcar Town has been targeted by thieves, with medals, training kits and money stolen just two months ago.
The team, which hosts a football coaching session every Saturday morning at Borough Park to help children improve their skills, said it may have to close until it can raise money to buy metal shutters.
After the last break-in coaches put three padlocks on the door, but they were not enough to keep burglars out.
A spokesman for the team said on Facebook: "The first time... they even trashed the building. What was especially galling was that they sat in the Pavilion and ate the kids' sweets.
"We hoped it was a one-off but it was not to be. A couple of months later we were broken into again. We have two options - either close to club down or suspend the club until we can raise the money... and this is not fair to the kids who turn up in rain and shine every week without fail."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
