A COMMUNITY rugby club has welcomed a gift of two ipads to help with coaching sessions

The devices will be used by the senior and junior section at Wensleydale RUFC to help player development and analysis.

They were donated to the club by John Marshall, from Colburn-based A1 Tank Services.

He said: "Having a son in who started playing rugby at Wensleydale from the age of five, I have nothing but admiration for all those volunteers who work tirelessly to make the club such a friendly and safe environment for the children to grow and develop not just from a playing and skills perspective but also from the social skills that they develop.

"As a company which is always looking to support junior sport particularly in North Yorkshire, I am delighted to be able to support the coaches by donating the ipads to assist in their continued development of all present and future rugby players."

Jim Chapman, Wensleydale RUFC first team coach, said: "Even during the close season, the ipads have helped with my pre-season preparations.

"Being able to analyse past games and training through the eye of the ipad has enabled me to amend, change and improve training schedules according to real life scenarios rather than have to rely on memory and notes. I can only see this continuing to help our coaching team more and more the more we use it."
