A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured after colliding with a car.
The collision happened at 5.10pm on Friday in Durham City on the A177 near to the New Inn pub.
"The driver of the Honda motorbike, a man aged 50 from Bearpark, was air lifted to James Cook hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable," said a spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary.
"The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a woman aged 28 from Bishop Auckland, was not injured."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles in the time leading up to it should contact police on 101.
