THE UK’S best groomed man is restyling himself as a football pundit.

North-East single father Les Langley was named Britain’s Best Groomed Man in 2013 and went on to become an actor.

The Darlington man will soon hit the small screens with the North East Football Show, co-presenting it along with professional dancer Anthony Rutherford.

The show will see the pair report on semi-professional clubs from across the region and will feature a regular ‘where are they now?’ spot with the likes of former England player Gary Pallister sharing experiences.

Mr Langley – himself a former semi-pro player and captain for clubs including Crook Town – said: “It will have sensible and informative parts but will also be good fun.

“It will mainly focus on Northern League, semi-professional clubs but we might sometimes look at Sunday league if a club is particularly bad.”

He added: “If someone had told me I’d be presenting a programme on anything other than football, I’d have been nervous.

“This is my main interest and always has been so I’m not nervous as speaking to someone about semi-professional football will just be like a normal conversation for me.”

The programme is set to be screened on the Made for Tyne and Wear channel – 117 on Sky and available on Freeview – throughout the next season.
