THE gardens at Tudor Croft on Stokesley Road, Guisborough, opened to the public on Sunday afternoon and hundreds enjoyed them in the sunshine.
Landscape gardener Mike Heagney has developed the five acre site into a world-class garden over the last 10 years and his family has lived at Tudor Croft for over 60 years.
The gardens have appeared on the TV show Gardeners’ World and appeared in several magazines and the public took advantage of the fine weather to see plants and shrubs across the world and wander the nooks and crannies formed by a stream, shrubs and leafy tunnels.
There was entertainment from Dominic Boyes on his guitar while James McGairy exhibiting his painting skills.
Mr Heagney said: “Our open garden was a great success with huge numbers enjoying the gardens in glorious weather. We therefore have been able to give £1,500 to MAIN autism and also five other smaller donations. We would particularly thank the 50 volunteers who worked so hard to make the day so special.”
