BUDDING rock, pop, folk and classical music stars can take part in a summer school later this month, before performing in front of parents.

Tees Valley Music Service is providing Holiday Summer Music Fun at Saltburn Learning Campus for young people from across the region aged seven and over.

The mornings will be focused on singing, wind and brass, junior and senior strings, ceilidh band, percussion ensemble and pop band.

After lunch there is an opportunity to try something different, including steel band, ukulele, Taiko, Samba and African drumming, Junk Band, Arts and Crafts and more.

The summer school runs from Tuesday, July 21 until Friday, July 24 from 10am to 3pm, culminating in a concert for parents at 1.45pm on the Friday.

Susan Robertson, head of Tees Valley Music Service, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both young musicians and those who have yet to learn to sing or play an instrument to come together, have some fun and receive expert tuition then impress their parents with a performance.

"We might just unearth a star of the future.”

The summer school costs £50 for each child for the week and will be held at Saltburn Learning Campus, Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn by-the-Sea TS12 1HJ.
