THREE English oak trees were dedicated in honour of the fallen of the First World War today (Monday, July 13).
A plaque was unveiled and the three trees dedicated in a ceremony by Hemlington Lake, Middlesbrough, led by the Reverend Robert Desics, from nearby St Timothy's Parish Church.
The service remembered the dead of subsequent wars and conflicts, and was in honour of those that continue to serve in all the armed forces.
The plaque and trees were paid for with a contribution from Asda Community Champions, with extra funds from The Friends of Hemlington Lake, and formed part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
