POLICE have left a cheeky note for drug producers in a shrubbery beside a railway line after discovering large cannabis plants growing there.
North Yorkshire Police said it believes the 18 plants which were spotted growing wild by a dog walker in Poppleton Ings, York, had been cultivated deliberately.
They said the plants were not fully mature, but had been been seized by officers who are now trying to identify who was growing them.
They left a note at the scene reading: "Hi, Please attend Fulford Police Station to collect your plants. Bring ID. Love, North Yorkshire Police."
Anyone with information about the cannabis plants is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for the York West Safer Neighbourhood Team.
