REDCAR welcomed the sun and big crowds at the weekend for Armed Forces Day.
Veterans and serving members of the Army, Air Force and Navy attended the annual event on Redcar High Street.
Those parading included army veteran Caroline Willis, the youngest-ever veteran to parade in the town, who was joined by her father Jimmy, who is also an army veteran.
Redcar & Cleveland Mayor Brenda Forster said: βIt was a wonderful event and I am very grateful that so many members of the public could come down to Redcar and show their appreciation to the loyalty displayed by the men and women in our military.
βI was very pleased to be able to talk to veterans, including Caroline and her father, and serving members of the Armed Forces to thank them personally for everything they have done for our country.β
Later, in the afternoon, Cadet Forces from the Navy, Army and RAF, competed on the High Street to claim honour as the best drilled branch of the Forces and crowds were captivated by a drill from the Standard Bearers.
A vintage Spitfire also wowed the crowds with a display of aerobatics on the sea front.
