A FREE bus service to ferry locals and tourists between Hartlepool's attractions will be running over the summer holidays.
The Hartlepool Explorer Bus was trialled by the town's council over Easter, and now the pilot scheme has been extended over the summer.
It will run four times a day between July 21 and August 30 and will stop at Seaton Crew, Church Street, Victoria Terrace, Navigation Point, and near to the Heugh Gun Battery.
It will mean visitors can easily access the beach at Seaton Carew, shops, the art gallery, the Maritime Experience and the Headland.
Councillor Kevin Cranney, Chair of the Council’s Regeneration Services Committee, said: “This free service links up many of Hartlepool’s key attractions and is just the ticket for enjoying some great days out around the town this summer – and that’s good for the town’s tourist venues and businesses too.
“I hope people will really make the most of it. We will assess the effectiveness of the service at the end of the summer to help us decide whether it would be worthwhile running it again during future holiday periods.”
