YOUNGSTERS have pulled on their dancing shoes in preparation for this year’s Festival of Thrift.

Pupils at Corporation Road Primary School, in Darlington, put their best feet forward at a dance workshop ahead of a performance on Friday, September 25 to launch the Festival of Thrift.

The school is one of six North-East schools taking part in a performance in Darlington town centre to celebrate the 190th anniversary of the Darlington and Stockton railway.

The youngsters will also be performing at the annual festival, which returns to Lingfield Point, in Darlington, on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27.

The workshop was held by Dance City and Folk Dance Remixed and further sessions will be held throughout the summer, in preparation for the festival.

The cash-conscious event promotes a "make-do-and-mend" lifestyle and features a range of workshops and stalls showing visitors how to reuse, recycle and upcycle.
