A CHURCH will host four fun days around Durham next weekend (Saturday, June 6).

King’s Church Durham will stage the events as part of its annual June Project outreach week.

The church has sent out a team of volunteers to clear gardens, pick up litter, sing on the streets, pray for people and talk about faith each June since 2007.

This Saturday (June 7), it will hold free fun days at Holliday Park, Langley Moor from noon to 2pm; Richmond Park, off Carr House Drive, Newton Hall from noon to 2.30pm; the Pelaw View Centre, Sherburn Road Estate from noon to 3pm; and Oswald’s Park, Church Street from 3pm to 7pm.

Event organiser Chris Juby said: “The fun days are a great way to express God’s generosity and his love for the people of our city.

“We’ve been running events in Sherburn Road, Newton Hall and Oswald’s Park for a number of years and this year we’re excited to be adding another in Langley Moor.”

There will be barbecues, inflatables, sports, games and face painting. The Oswald’s Park event will also feature live music, starting with and outdoor ceilidh at 3pm led by Durham band the Scrumpy Badgers.

Entry is free and open to all.
