THE family of a dad and his toddler son who were killed in a horror crash have paid tribute to them.

Michael Jopson, 25, and Tony, 18 months, of Old Tebay, Penrith, in Cumbria died after the crash between a HGV and a car on the A66 at Crackenthorpe on Monday (MAY 25).

Tony's baby brother Logan was left seriously injured in the smash, but his condition is now said to be stable.

A spokesperson for the family said: "Michael was the centre of his family's world, tragically taken he has left a world shattered.

"Loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew and cousin who has filled our lives with joy, smiles and happiness and whose jokes never got any better.

"Tony, our budding little gardener and minion super-fan, has been snatched from our hearts, taken too soon, leaving behind his little brother Logan who requires our prayers at this dreadful time.

"Devoted wife and mother Tamarah has been left with no words, and only the strength to focus on Logan's recovery.

"To have had her soulmate and her first born, both of whom meant the world to her, taken from her so suddenly has caused great distress.

"Both Michael and Tony leave behind a big hole in the hearts of their immediate and extended family and friends who are all left in shock but would like to thank the local community for their support.

"Our thanks go to Cumbria Police, the North Air Ambulance Service and the team at the RVI Hospital, without whom Logan would not have received the critical medical attention he required."

Police were called at 5.11pm following a two vehicle collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A66.
