A THREE-month old baby is being treated in hospital after his pushchair was hit by a car on Tuesday morning.

The baby boy is thought to be unharmed, but has been kept in hospital for observation after the collision, in Stockton.

A police spokeswoman said: "Cleveland Police attended a collision on Fairfield Road, Stockton, at 9.25am.

"The collision involved a silver Citroen Berlingo and a three month-old baby boy who was in a pushchair.

"The baby has no apparent injuries but was checked over by paramedics at the scene and has been kept in hospital for observation."

The crash happened just before the junction with Bishopton Road West. A 74-year-old man was reported for summons for careless driving and will appear in court in a few weeks.
