CHARITY motorcyclists are to travel from Newcastle to Bishop Auckland to help raise funds to tackle dementia.
Ray’s Charity Ride Out has been organised by Jackie Gee to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Auckland Park Hospital.
More than 300 bikes are expected to leave The Beacon, in Westgate Road, Newcastle, home to the Alzheimer’s Society North-East area office, at 10am on Saturday, May 23.
They will ride along the A68 to Ferryhill, in County Durham, where a fun day is being held by The Manor House pub from noon.
Ms Gee, of Fishburn, in County Durham, decided to hold the event as her father Ray, 87, of Ferryhill, is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s.
Entry to the ride for bikers is £5 per person and for more information visit Ray’s Charity Ride Out on Facebook.
