A VAN fire was dealt with on the A19 in Washington.
At around 11.20am on Sunday Northumbria Police officers attended the scene at North Hylton where firefighters were extinguishing the blaze.
"No one was believed to be in the vehicle and there at not believed to be any injuries," a spokesman said.
The A19 has three lanes closed at this time but expected to reopen two lanes shortly.
