An 84-year-old woman had to be flown by air ambulance to hospital after her car left the road, crashing through a wall into a field.
The pensioner suffered chest injuries in the accident near Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, at about 5.40pm on Sunday (April 26).
She was assessed at the scene by a trauma unit from the Great North Air Ambulance before being flown to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where her condition was described as stable.
