WHO frontman Roget Daltrey will be in the North-East to mark the 40th anniversary of the rock opera Tommy.
Mr Daltrey, who played the main character, will visit the Playhouse Theatre in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, on Saturday, August, for a special screening of the iconic film.
It is being screened as part of the sixth Whitley Bay Film Festival.
As a precursor to the event, the festival team will hold a pinball tournament throughout July culminating in the final on screening day.
Festival Director Emma Lea said, “It’s a great honour for the festival to welcome such a prestigious guest and demonstrates how far our community event has come along in the six years it’s been running.
"As Whitley Bay was once synonymous with arcades and pinball, it will be a great pleasure to reintroduce something of the lost art of amusement to our town”
Tickets for the film and a Q&A event go on sale from Thursday (April 16) priced £15.
