AUDITIONS for TV talent show X Factor in the region failed to attract crowds of hopefuls this year.
The auditions were held on Saturday morning in Middlesbrough's Hillstreet shopping centre.
But instead of crowds of hundreds queuing up, as in previous years, there was more of a slow trickle of singers turning up throughout the morning.
Hopefuls will have to wait until August to find out if they have made it through to the next round, in front of the judges.
Teesside has produced a number of X-factor finalists, including winner James Arthur, from Saltburn, in 2012, finalist Amelia Lily, from Stockton, who came third in 2011, and Abi Alton, who reached the live shows stage in 2013.
