A 28-YEAR-old man has denied murdering his parents after they were found badly injured in their home.
Martin Ruddy appeared before Newcastle Crown Court for the brief hearing.
The defendant is charged with murdering his father Eric, 64, and mother Carol, 56, who were found at their home in Elswick, Newcastle, in December. They died later in hospital.
Appearing by video link and wearing a shirt and grey jumper, Mr Ruddy spoke only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty pleas.
Judge Paul Sloan QC said he would continue to remand him in custody and adjourned the case until May.
