A TWO-year-old is feared to have been injured after the motorcycle he was being carried on on hit a parked car, writes Ashley Williams.

The toddler was a passenger on a green scrambler involved in a hit-and-run incident in Sunderland.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Police believe the child may have been injured during the incident. It is thought the child is around two to three years old and may be called Ruben.”

The incident occurred at 5.20pm on Saturday ( March 28), when a man riding the green scrambler motorbike crashed into a white Vauxhall Astra.

The Astra was parked on Rawmarsh Road, outside of the Coral bookmakers in the Redhouse area.

The rider left the scene of the incident without exchanging details with the person driving the Astra and police want to find him.

He is described as being in his early 30s, white, of medium build and around 5ft 9ins tall. He is also said to have ginger hair and to have been wearing a yellow helmet and green hooded top.
